I'm the person behind Wildform Studio.
I'm a creative at heart. I've always loved making things, drawing, getting inspired by other people's creativity and generally having a go at anything that lets me make something with my hands.
By day, I'm a Marketing Manager. I genuinely love what I do, but I also know how easy it is to get caught up in the busy world of work, family life and everything else that comes with it.
So Wildform is my little corner of the world where I get to slow down, switch off and create.
Falling in love with wood burning 🔥
I discovered wood burning and, somewhere along the way, completely fell in love with it.
There's something about taking a plain piece of wood and slowly bringing an idea to life with nothing more than heat and patience.
And patience is definitely something it teaches you.
Wood burning is slow.
There is no rushing it. No undo button. No shortcut when you've spent ages working on one tiny section.
You just sit, burn, concentrate... and eventually realise you've completely zoned out from everything else.
It's become one of my favourite ways to switch off.
I've had a few “why on earth did I decide to do this?!” moments along the way too... especially when you catch yourself, i've had a few nasty burns but.. It's worth it. 😂
Inspired by people, places & the wild 🌿
A lot of my inspiration comes from being surrounded by creative people.
Everything I make starts with an idea, but where that idea comes from can be pretty much anywhere.
A landscape we've walked through.
A song I've heard live.
Something I've photographed.
A conversation.
A family adventure.
A beautiful piece of wood, or sometimes just a completely random idea that pops into my head and refuses to leave. 😂
I don't always know where Wildform is going, and honestly, that's part of the fun.
For now, I'm enjoying learning, experimenting, burning lots of wood, occasionally questioning my life choices when I choose a ridiculously detailed design... and seeing where this little creative adventure takes me.
